Start at wherever you parked your car in the car park.
Track 2: The Gate of the North Wind
Walk up to the old stone gateway at the top of the car park and start the track just outside it.

Track 3: Rue des Poternes: Living Inside the Walls
Walk through the gate and follow the main lane, the Rue des Poternes, gently uphill into the village. Stop under the first covered passage, where houses bridge the street over your head.

Track 4: Water and Time: The Fountain, the Lavoir and the Belfry
Keep following the Rue des Poternes until it opens into a small square with a stone mountain and a tall tower above it. You will hear the water before you see it. 🙂

Track 5: Eglise Saint-Denis: A Church Against the Rock
Continue South along the lane, past the restaurant terraces, until the street opens at the stone church built right against the cliff. It’s about three minutes, and the view at the end is worth every step.

Track 6: The Terrace: Reading the Plain
Come back outside and walk to the stone parapet at the edge of the square, where the whole plain opens up below you. Watch your step at the wall

Track 7: The Portail Neuf and Place des Arceaux: When Safe Was Not Enough
When you are ready, head back down through the village toward the south gate, the Portrail Neuf, and out to the shady square of plane trees below the walls. Downhill this time. Your knees will notice, even if you don’t.

Track 8: Departure Meditation
Find a bench under the plane trees, or walk back up to the church terrace if you would rather end with a view. Sit down for the last track. You have earned it. 🙂
