The Swan Hotel – which is a Best Western Plus Hotel – faces the Cathedral from about a block away on the main road into the city square (less than a half-block from the square. It is big by English/European standards, with 50 rooms. It has a car park tucked behind it which will be a great challenge to negotiate a parking spot for a less-than- attentive driver. 🙂
Our room had an antique-feeling – clean and there was a four-poster bed with canopy.
This is in room #44. It is up two flights of stairs. There is no elevator. We got some help getting the bags up the stairs. We got a workout.
There was a very nice little sitting room off the bedroom that gave me some place to work.
The bathroom is quite small – by most standards. With the deep tub, you’ve got to be a bit of gymnast to get in and out of the shower. 🙂
The sink area was also pretty small. Made it a bit of a challenge for Jackie to prepare in the morning.
But it was clean, well maintained, and very very popular with Brits on holiday. And the location can’t be beat.
