The Attentive Traveler – Conwy, Wales – Restaurant Review – Shakespeare’s

During our first night in Conwy, we had a chance to take in Shakespeare’s in the Castle Hotel.

Love the Invisible Chips for a tip option.

Now that you’ve seen the menu and wine list… what did we have?

The same menu is served in both the dressy restaurant (reservations recommended) and where we ate and the more casual Dawson’s Bar.

Jackie had the Filet of Seabass. She is still raving about it!!

First off, we had a couple of starters – Crispy Coated Mushrooms with Garlic Aioli (above)

And some Crab Risotto and seared King Scallops (Above)

For my main course, I had the Poynton’s of Llandudno Rib-Eye Steak

I just thought that this ketchup bottle was cute. 🙂

For our deserts, Jackie had the Creme Brule with Amareto Cherries (Above). I had the Pistachio & Raspberry Blackwell Tart.

This meal was excellent. You can’t beat the ambience – the service was attentive. Jackie ranks this meal as among her best thus far. My steak was good – but I yearn for the thicker steaks of home. And of course the desserts. Absolutely fantasic.

Highly Recommended.
