The Attentive Traveler – Conwy, Wales – Restaurant Review – Alfredo Restaurant

After our day of touring gardens and castles, we settled on a Rick Steve recommendation for dinner – Alfredo Restaurant.

This is a thriving and family-friendly place right on Lancaster Square, serves decent, reasonably priced Italian food. Strangely, it is Italian food that we have found ourselves craving the most. 🙂

The lighting in the restaurant has green and red bulbs… so the food is certainly not the sick green color that the pictures show. 🙂

Let’s look at our meals:

Hot Garlic Bread
Spigodoella Casa – Seabass in wine sauce (yes – it is a white sauce and not the color green! 🙂
I had the Gamberoni Al Aglio – King Prawns over noodles with a wine sauce
We can’t remember this one… looks like Jackie with vegetables suddenly on it. 🙂 Too many pictures I guess.
How about some dessert?

A final word on the qualities of meeting other people. Not just other Americans or fellow travelers – but locals – who call the place that you are visiting “home”. Just a block away from our home-away-from-home is the Albion Bar. It is a neat little place that is actually run by four small area breweries to show off their wares. It is the haunts of locals… each late afternoon into early evening the two sided bar and its side rooms fill with locals. For two nights, we had the joy of getting to know this gang – especially Jed and Tony. We found out that Jed is related to the woman who owns the place we are staying. They were incredibly friendly and incredibly welcoming. The conversations drew us in and had some changing plans to spend more time with them. When you exchange contact information with a new friend and know that you look forward to making contact… you know that good has happened in our world. We look forward to seeing you all again! I know that Jed and I will continue to find more things to agree on than where we differ. 🙂
