The Attentive Traveler – Italy Adventure 2023 – Amalfi Coast – Where we slept and ate

Where we slept:

We stayed at the Villa Rosa. Room 34. It decorates its 12 spacious rooms plus one apartment with – you guessed it – roses.

Our room had a fantastic terrace (most do) with views that simply can’t be captured by a camera.

It is the perfect place to have your breakfast served.

There is no elevator, and there were quite a few stairs to get to the upper floor with the most magnificent terraces. But did I mention the view? 🙂

Eating In Positano and the Amalfi Coast:

At the waterfront, several interchangeable restaurants with view terraces leave people fat and happy – we certainly were! Your view and people watching vantage means you will have a skinnier wallet as well.

Little distinguishes one place from the next; all are scenic, convenient, and overpriced.

Uptown Positano: The unassuming, family-run Ristorante Bruno was handy to our Villa Rosa – so we enjoyed two meals there. While expensive, it has nice views

Amalfi Town:

We had a nice lite pizza lunch at La taverna di Masaniello. It was a bit of a challenge to find as it is tucked off the main drag on Piazza dei Dogi. You go straight across the square from the cathedral steps, and then up a little covered lane, and then hook right at the fork, you pop out in atmospheric little Piazza dei Dogi. Less trampled and more neighborhood-feeling than Piazza Duomo, it has several decent (if forgettable) restaurants aimed squarely at us tourists.
