The Attentive Traveler – Restaurant Review – Keswick, England – Woodstone Pizza & Flame Grill

For our second night in Keswick, we had no dinner plans… and the idea of a woodfire pizza captured Jackie’s attention. So we gave the Woodstone Pizza & Flame Grill a try.

Jackie got her wood fired pizza. It was good… she said she has better… and she would not return to the restaurant craving this pizza… but it hit the spot and she enjoyed her meal.

I am the kind of idiot that would order a steak at a pizza restaurant. But our server was crowing about their flame grill… so I said I’d give the steak a shot. It was like virtually every other steak I’ve had thus far in England… not much seasoning – thinner than I thought – overall… OK. But the guy was so earnest… so I guess I’m glad that I took his advice. 🙂

Still not sure what the brown sauce was…

One of the things that always makes me smile is that they ask how you would like the steak… I would guess with steaks as thick as your thumb (maybe), it would be really hard to get “medium rare plus” just right. 🙂

Give them a shot instead of eating some lower type stuff. You will not be too disappointed.
