The Attentive Traveler – South Kensington, England – Restaurant Review – The Anglesea Arms

After settling in to our lodging for the rest of the week, we grabbed a quick dinner in the neighborhood before heading out on the town.

The Anglesea Arms, with a great terrace buried in a classy South Kensington residential area, is a destination pub that feels like the classic neighborhood favorite.

Sorry for this being so fuzzy

It’s a thriving and happy place, with a woody ambience.

While the food is the main draw, this is also a fine place to just have a beer.

Don’t let the crowds here put you off. We almost walked away since it was so crowded out front – all with drinks in their hands enjoying a nice early evening. Behind all the drinkers, in back, is an elegant, mellow step-down dining room a world away from any tourism. We were only one of three tables just after opening.

We were not wowed… but it was good. Suggest you give it a try if staying in the South Kensington area. Great place to people watch.
