It seems that everyone stops at this lovely, seemingly made-for-tourist town on Loch Fyne.
Jackie and I browsed the main street – lined with touristy shops and cafe’s all the way to the church at it’s top.
As this is the geological and demographic border between the Highlands and the Lowlands, traditionally church services here were held in both Scot and Gaelic.
Just before the church is Loch Fyne Whiskies with the unique historic bottles on its ceiling.
The Inveraray Jail is the main site in town – an overpriced, corny, but mildly educational former jail converted into a museum. It was undergoing a pretty extensive renovation during our visit, and based on the many reviews… we gave it a pass.
Cute town on a solt-water loch with a castle within walking distance… what’s not to like? 🙂
